Tuesday Night Lane Restrictions on I-76 at 30th Street Cancelled

March 13, 2018 – Tuesday night's (March 13) scheduled lane restrictions on Interstate 76 between the South Street and Interstate 676 interchanges in Philadelphia for construction on the viaduct carrying Schuylkill Avenue over the expressway between Walnut Street and Market Street have been cancelled due to the weather, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Construction crews on the $103.6 million project are removing sections of the existing concrete deck from the viaduct and repairing or replacing the viaduct’s deteriorated steel deck beams and cross members.

PennDOT is rehabilitating the Chestnut Street bridge over the Schuylkill River and seven other nearby structures, including those carrying Schuylkill Avenue over I-76 between Walnut Street and Chestnut Street, and between Chestnut Street and Market Street.
